Music Careers is an information and community website aimed at helping individuals start or build a career in the music industry.

Our original articles and content will help you discover the keys to working on the road or in the studio; learn about writing songs, getting them published, and much more.

Music Careers first began as an extension of the popular guitar lesson website Guitar Noise, which has been teaching guitar online since 1995. After a whole year of planning and development, Music Careers first hit the web on May 1, 2002.

Over the years Guitar Noise has helped thousands of musicians reach their goals and beyond. As many of them graduated from the ranks of beginner musicians, they began to consider music as a career. Their questions and needs became less about how to play guitar and more about how to make a career out of making music. It was clear that an entirely new web site was needed.

Music Careers focuses on the working side of a life in music. While there is a strong interest among young musicians on how to "make it" in the business, this web site also deals with some nontraditional music careers.
